Our engraving is more persistent than Krasen when he's decided we're making a new product at 2 AM. Dancho's laser doesn't "draw" on the metal; it literally carves the text into it. There's no paint to chip off, and no ink to smudge. The inscription is there forever. You can scrub it, carry it in your pocket with your keys, or bequeath it to your grandchildren; the name will remain. The only way to get rid of the engraving is to melt down the compass, but Dancho strongly advises against it (because of his hard work).
In short: You're more likely to forget your name than for it to be erased from this compass.
