How to make an embroidered plush backpack in Wishifyy
Step 1: The text you send becomes a template
When you choose a backpack (elephant, tiger, unicorn or another), you enter the child's name. This name goes into specialized embroidery software (Wilcom) - where it is transformed into a stitch template: a precise map that tells the machine where and in what direction to make each stitch.
This is not just exporting a letter as a stitch. Each letter is reviewed manually - we check if the curves are smooth, if the spacing between the letters will be maintained after embroidery, and if the chosen font will be readable on the plush material of the backpack.
Step 2: Fabric stretching
The plush fabric of the backpack is stretched onto a special frame (called a "hoop") on the embroidery machine. There's a small trick here: the plush material is soft and fluffy, so the letters are embroidered with an additional layer of stabilizer that dissolves in water afterward. Without this detail, the letters would "sink" into the fibers and wouldn't be legible.
Step 3: The embroidery process
The machine operates at approximately 800-1000 stitches per minute. A standard name of 5-6 letters takes about 4-6 minutes of pure embroidery time. But the actual time from order to finished backpack is 3 to 6 business days, because:
- Sometimes the queue is long (especially around holidays).
- After embroidery, each backpack undergoes manual cleaning to remove excess threads.
- We check in light and shadow to ensure the embroidery is legible.
- We carefully package it with gift wrap.
Step 4: Quality control
Every item goes through 3 checks before heading to Econt:
- Alphanumeric control: does the name match the order?
- Tactile control: are there no protruding threads, is the embroidery well smoothed?
- Visual control: will the child like it?
If something does not meet the standard, it goes back for rework. This is why we guarantee a free replacement in case of an error on our part.
Why plush backpacks are special
A standard children's backpack costs between 15 and 30 euros in a store. It does the job, but it says nothing. An embroidered backpack with the child's name becomes theirs - not their brother's, not the class's, but specifically theirs. This is the difference between "a gift" and "my gift."
